From “Not For Me” to My Go-To for Calm: The Story of Balance
When I first poured the Balance candle, I wasn’t totally sold on it.
It was 2021—back when I was still refining every blend by feel, sniff, and instinct—and Balance felt... strong.
The organic ylang ylang hit my nose first, and honestly?
It felt like too much. I wasn’t sure if anyone would love it, including me.
But one night, we were in between lockdowns. The boys had gone out.
I had the house to myself (rare!).
I lit the Balance candle—not to test it, just to have something burning in the background.
And then...
It kicked in.
I sank into the sofa and felt this slow, unexpected wave come over me.
It was like a deep breath I didn’t know I needed.
I exhaled. The tension dropped.
And I thought:
“The world is falling off my shoulders.”
I poured a glass of red wine.
I stayed right there for hours.
And I fell in love—with the scent I hadn’t expected to love at all.
Why I Still Burn Balance Today
Since that night, Balance has been my go-to.
Through school term madness, business stress, and even the quiet, foggy weeks when I couldn’t explain why I felt off.
(I’d later realise I was going through perimenopause.)
The scent became a ritual. A signal.
A moment I could light, whenever I needed to soften.
🌿 What’s in Balance?
Organic Ylang Ylang – grounding, floral, emotionally balancing
Rose Geranium – soothing and centring
Pink Grapefruit – refreshing and gently uplifting
✔ Uplifting but grounding
✔ Floral with a citrus lift
✔ Still hand-poured in small batches right here in Melbourne
It started as “not for me”...
And became the candle I reach for when I need calm, clarity, and a little bit of space to just be.
If you’ve never tried Balance, maybe now’s the moment.
Because sometimes, the things we least expect… are the ones we end up needing the most.
